ukraine - The Ukrainian army has released the notes of a North Korean soldier who died in the Russian border area, with detailed drawings including how to bring down a drone.

The North Korean soldier Gyeong Hong Jong, according to the Ukrainian army, was killed in the Kursk region, the Russian border area where intense fighting between Ukrainian and Russian troops has been taking place since last summer. A notebook was found near his body, of which the Ukrainians have now shared two pages on social media.

One of the pages features a handwritten note in which Gyeong Hong Jong congratulates a fellow soldier on his birthday. "Dear comrade, my companion Song Ji-Myong, celebrating his birthday on Russian soil, away from our homeland and away from the arms of his loving mother and father," it reads. "I sincerely wish you a happy birthday and good health."

The other page contains detailed explanations on how soldiers can best hide from Ukrainian artillery and a drawing titled 'How to take down a drone.'

The drawing shows three stick figures with a drone above them. "If you detect a drone, form a team of three. The one serving as bait should maintain a distance of seven meters, while the other two shoot. They should keep a distance of ten to twelve meters. If the bait remains still, the drone will also stop moving. At that point, the shooters bring down the drone," the instructions say.

The explanation on taking cover from artillery fire suggests that 'artillery never shoots twice in the same spot.' 'One can therefore seek shelter at the location of the previous hit and then leave the firing zone. It is also recommended to split into smaller groups and leave the firing zone,' it advises.
