A 34-year-old woman has been arrested by Catalan police after a traffic incident near RCD Espanyol's stadium in Barcelona left seventeen people lightly injured. Authorities confirmed there was no intention behind the accident, attributing it to the driver losing control in panic.

Police Statement

According to Commissioner Eduard Sallent, the female driver felt threatened by a group of supporters surrounding her car. In a state of panic, she lost control of the vehicle and drove into the crowd in an attempt to escape. Tests revealed no alcohol or drugs in her system.

Legal Actions

The 34-year-old woman with no criminal record has been arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and causing injury unintentionally. She is set to undergo further questioning.

“Four individuals remain hospitalized, with one, a 41-year-old, in critical condition,” stated Catalan authorities.
