Biden to Give Farewell Speech from Oval Office on Wednesday

washington - President Joe Biden will deliver a farewell address on Wednesday, five days before he steps down from office, the White House has announced.

President Biden is set to address the nation at 8:00 pm local time (2:00 am in the Netherlands on Thursday). He will do so from the Oval Office, the president's workspace in the White House.

On January 20, Biden's successor Donald Trump will be inaugurated. Biden announced in July that he would not seek re-election for a second term as president, citing concerns over his suitability, including from within his own party.

Subsequently, Biden put forward his Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate. She was defeated by Trump in the November presidential elections.
