Recent Avalanche Incident

A significant portion of the Birg Glacier collapsed on Wednesday, burying the village of Blatten in ice, mud, and debris. Prior to this, Blatten had already been evacuated due to landslide risks, with around 300 residents relocated. Further evacuations took place on Thursday.
