New report challenges Palestinian death toll figures in Gaza conflict

gaza - A recent report by the trans-Atlantic think tank Henry Jackson Society criticizes the accuracy of the Palestinian Ministry of Health's figures regarding the death toll from the war in Gaza.

A new report from the trans-Atlantic think tank Henry Jackson Society questions the accuracy of the Palestinian Ministry of Health's figures on the death toll resulting from the conflict in Gaza.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health claims that since the massacre on October 7th, more than 44,000 people have been killed in Israeli attacks. However, the Henry Jackson Society states that 17,000 of these are Hamas terrorists. Researchers rely on Israeli and American intelligence reports.

'The Palestinian Ministry of Public Health, which is controlled by the terrorist group Hamas, has systematically exaggerated the death toll by not distinguishing between civilian deaths and military casualties,' the report said. 'The ministry reports that many more women and children have died than is actually the case. Even individuals who died before the war are included in the figures. As a result, many believe that the Israeli army is deliberately targeting civilians, while a large number of the dead are military casualties.'

In addition, not all fatalities in Gaza were caused by the Israeli military. Stray Hamas rockets and chaos during food distributions have resulted in more deaths than the Palestinian Ministry of Public Health claims, the researchers indicate.

Palestinian organizations are outraged by the Henry Jackson Society's report. They view it as an 'immoral and disgusting attempt' to defend Israel's actions in Gaza. 'The figures from the Palestinian Ministry of Health are supported by various international organizations and UN agencies,' said the head of the Palestinian mission in the UK to The Telegraph. 'The death toll is severely underestimated. Many victims of Israeli attacks are still buried under the rubble.'
