qatar - Former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini takes over as head coach of Al Sadd in the Qatar Stars League after missing out on a return to English football with Nottingham Forest.

Roberto Mancini Becomes Head Coach of Al Sadd in Qatar

Roberto Mancini, known for leading Manchester City to their first Premier League title, has accepted the role of head coach at Al Sadd in the Qatar Stars League. This move comes after Mancini was passed over for a position at Nottingham Forest.

Mancini's Career Highlights

Mancini, aged 60, has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Al Sadd, marking his return to coaching since leaving his role as Saudi Arabia's coach in October 2024. He previously achieved success with Inter Milan, Lazio, and Fiorentina before guiding Italy to victory at Euro 2020.

City's Transformation under Mancini

During his tenure at Manchester City, Mancini played a pivotal role in transforming the club's performance, securing the FA Cup in 2011 and the Premier League title in 2012. Despite his departure from City in 2013, Mancini's impact on the team's success was significant.

Mancini's appointment at Al Sadd is seen as a significant move for the Qatari club, given his track record of success in various leagues.
