- Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana is in discussions with Trabzonspor for a potential loan transfer as the Turkish side contacts United for terms. Onana faces reduced playing time after the arrival of Senne Lammens.

Manchester United's André Onana in Talks for Trabzonspor Loan Move

André Onana, the Manchester United goalkeeper, is currently in talks with Trabzonspor regarding a possible loan move as confirmed by sources from ESPN. The Turkish club has initiated contact with Manchester United to negotiate the terms of the deal.

Reduced Playing Time

Onana, under contract with United until 2028, expressed his desire to stay at the club this summer. However, due to a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the entire preseason, he has seen Altay Bayindir start in all three of United's Premier League matches. The recent signing of Senne Lammens has further dimmed Onana's prospects for regular first-team action.

Transfer Window Deadline Approaching

Trabzonspor, finishing seventh in the league last season, has until September 12 to finalize the deal with both Manchester United and Onana. Should the agreement go through, it would mark the end of Onana's two-year tenure at Old Trafford following his arrival from Inter Milan in a £43.8 million ($59.1m) deal back in 2023.
