FBI looks closely at Clinton foundation

washington - The American criminal investigation agency FBI has been investigating for months whether the charity foundation Clinton Foundation is guilty of corruption and favoritism. The FBI tries to find out whether donors have received political favors in return for donations to the foundation.

The Washington Post and The New York Times report that the study is focused on the period 2009-2013. Hillary Clinton was then Secretary of State. According to Hillary Clinton's spokesperson, the investigation is being conducted to divert attention from former FBI director Mueller's investigation into possible contacts between members of the Donald Trump campaign team and the Russians in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

Clinton's Republican opponent Trump said in the election campaign that major donors through the Clinton Foundation were given priority at Clinton's ministry.
