south korea - A horrifying plane crash in South Korea has left 179 people dead, while causing confusion and anger among the grieving families due to mistakes by the government.

A tragic plane crash at Musan International Airport in Muan, South Korea, has resulted in the deaths of 179 out of 181 passengers on board a Jeju Air aircraft following a collision with a flock of birds.

The families of the victims expressed outrage over the confusion caused by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MOSIT) when 22 individuals' identities were incorrectly revealed at the airport.

One family member questioned whether their loved ones were still alive, while others demanded to know why the official list of the deceased had not yet been released.

The sole survivor, flight attendant Lee Im, miraculously escaped with minor injuries and temporary memory loss, recounting the harrowing experience.

In a separate account, another flight attendant, Koo Mo Mo, recalled witnessing an engine fire and explosion before being saved by the plane's tail section breaking off.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing sparks and hearing explosions before the crash, with one resident near the airport describing a loud bang and smoke billowing from the aircraft.

The media highlighted the timeline of events leading to the disaster, emphasizing the quick succession of warnings, distress calls, and the eventual tragedy within a span of three minutes.

Prior to the crash, a passenger allegedly messaged a relative about a bird strike, posing the question, "Shall I say my last words?"

The acting president of South Korea declared a seven-day period of mourning for the victims and designated Muan as a 'special disaster zone,' while expressing condolences to their families.
