- It starts now really seem that the days of multimedia software Flash are counted. Facebook has this week made the technique banned and serves all the videos on the site now HTML5 markup language.
Although Flash was once the standard for playing movies, music and games on the web, it is considerably in recent years quarreled. The platform is responsible for many vulnerabilities and requires a lot of computing power. The introduction of the first iPhone was the first nail in the coffin: Apple refused to support the mobile platform.
Facebook experimenting for some time with an HTML5 video player, but was still some mistakes against, especially for users of older versions of web browsers. This Flash was still working better. Meanwhile, the errors according to the company have been removed and the new player offered as standard.
The only place still find Flash is on Facebook, is in the games. But here too the company is looking for an alternative.
