'ExxonMobil wants to buy BP '

- Oil and gas company ExxonMobil would consider making an offer for rival BP.

Reported at least the British Evening Standard citing sources at talks. This acquisition would be the largest energy.

Both sides refused to give energy to Reuters comment on the article. BP notes 4% higher after the market rumor. A merger would be facilitated by some major shareholders are both ExxonMobil and BP, especially Vanguard and Blackrock.
