Ex-Prime Minister Catalonia has not been arrested in Denmark

copenhagen - The fugitive ex-premier of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, arrived in Copenhagen on Monday without problems. Puigdemont goes to a meeting in the university of the Danish capital. Spain had threatened with a European arrest warrant.

That order has been launched by Spain earlier in Belgium because Puigdemont now resides there. But Madrid withdrew the European arrest warrant in December. The Spanish judicial authorities may have been faced with a tragic extradition case in Belgium. This could possibly turn out in the media and with the Belgian magistrates in favor of the Catalan politician.

In Spain he continues to search for a series of offenses committed when he, as the regional prime minister, wanted to separate Catalonia from Spain in October with an illegal referendum.
