The wreckage removal process of the Jeju Air aircraft, which led to the death of 179 people in South Korea, has commenced. According to reports, the South Korean police have imposed a foreign travel ban on the CEO of Jeju Air following the fatal crash.

The police statement revealed that a travel ban has been issued for two individuals, including Jeju Air CEO Kim E-bae, in connection with the investigation into the tragic incident.

Reported by the AFP, the wreckage of the aircraft is being lifted 5 days after the crash at Musan International Airport.

Using a large yellow crane, authorities have begun removing the outer parts of the burnt wreckage, such as the engines of the aircraft.

During a press conference, Police Chief Na Won-ho stated, "Today, we will lift the tail part of the aircraft. We anticipate that remnants may be found in that section."

The Police Chief indicated that the lifting process of the aircraft could extend until tomorrow, while it was reported that some of the remains have been handed over to the families to begin the funeral ceremonies.
