london - London City Lionesses make history with the £1.43 million signing of Grace Geyoro from Paris Saint-Germain, breaking the women's world transfer record.

London City Lionesses Secure World-Record Signing of Grace Geyoro

London City Lionesses have shattered the women's world transfer record by acquiring Grace Geyoro from Paris Saint-Germain for £1.43 million. Geyoro's move marks the 16th signing for London City this summer, setting a new milestone in women's soccer.

Record-Breaking Transfer

Grace Geyoro's £1.43 million move to London City Lionesses surpasses the previous record set by Olivia Smith's £1m transfer to Arsenal and Lizbeth Ovalle's £1.1m deal with Orlando Pride this window. The 28-year-old midfielder, a France international, had three years left on her PSG contract before joining the Women's Super League (WSL).

Geyoro's Illustrious Career

Having played over 270 games for PSG since the age of 15, Geyoro brings a wealth of experience to London City. She has also represented France with distinction, scoring 22 goals in 103 appearances for her country.

Sources reveal that PSG initially sought around €2m for Geyoro but settled for the final negotiated fee.

In response to the transfer, PSG expressed gratitude for Geyoro's contributions, hailing her as an iconic figure in the women's game.
