USMNT's Paxten Aaronson Joins Colorado Rapids
Colorado Rapids have completed the signing of U.S. men's national team midfielder Paxten Aaronson from Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt in a club-record transfer deal worth up to $8 million.
Record Transfer Deal
Aaronson, 21, will join the Rapids on a five-year contract, becoming a designated player on the team's roster. The Rapids, currently in seventh place in the Western Conference, see Aaronson as a key addition to strengthen their midfield.
International Experience
Aaronson, who recently played on loan at FC Utrecht, has had successful stints with the U.S. Men's National Team, including winning the Concacaf Nations League in 2023-24 and reaching the final of the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. He also represented the U.S. at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Before moving to Germany, Aaronson began his professional career with the Philadelphia Union in 2020. Eintracht Frankfurt Sporting Director, Timmo Hardung, praised Aaronson's potential and wished him success at Colorado Rapids.
DeAndre Yedlin's Transfer to Real Salt Lake
In other MLS news, former USMNT defender DeAndre Yedlin has joined Real Salt Lake from FC Cincinnati in a trade deal involving $304,700 in 2025 general allocation money. Yedlin, with 81 caps for the U.S., brings his experience from playing in Europe and with various clubs to Real Salt Lake.
