- Iñigo Martinez signs a one-year contract with Al Nassr after leaving Barcelona by mutual consent. Martinez, 34, made 71 appearances for Barcelona since 2023.

Iñigo Martinez Signs with Al Nassr

Iñigo Martinez has officially joined Al Nassr as a free agent after terminating his contract with Barcelona. The Spanish centre-back, aged 34, signed a one-year deal with an option to extend for another season.

Martinez's Career at Barcelona

Having joined Barcelona in 2023 from Athletic Club, Martinez played 71 games for the club. Last season, he contributed to Barça's domestic treble, winning the league, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Supercopa.

Transition to Al Nassr

Al Nassr sought Martinez as Aymeric Laporte is reportedly in talks to return to Athletic Club. This move comes as a surprise to fans, considering Martinez was a key player under coach Hansi Flick.

Sources reveal that Martinez had a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League last year but opted to stay at Barcelona. His departure will free up approximately €12-16 million in salary for Barcelona.

Al Nassr's Recent Signings

Al Nassr, led by captain Cristiano Ronaldo, finished third in the Saudi Pro League last season. They have also acquired João Félix and appointed Jorge Jesus as coach.
