Chinese 'all you can eat' restaurant went bankrupt after eleven days

chengdu - A restaurant in China had to close the doors after only eleven days after hungry customers knew how to find things too well. At eight o'clock in the morning people were queuing in front of the door. The 'all you can eat' plan turned out to be a bit too cheap.

For 16 euros the Chinese could buy a card with which they could eat unlimited for a month. Some tried to get everything out of the deal by visiting the restaurant in Chengdu every day.

But that was not the biggest problem: there was no picture on the card, so that not only the cardholder came to eat. For example, family and friends lent the pass to enjoy unlimited Chinese dishes.

After just a few days there were 500 eaters on the pavement every day, so that the staff had to work more than ten hours a day. On 13 June the restaurant- which had already accumulated a debt of almost 70,000 euros in eleven days- thought it was enough.

'This has been an expensive lesson,' the owner told Chengdu Commercial Newspaper. However, it does not stop him from opening a restaurant again in the future, with a concept that is undoubtedly better thought about.
