Liverpool Agrees £79m Deal for Striker Hugo Ekitike

Liverpool is in the final stages of securing a transfer deal for striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, with a total sum of up to £79 million, as sources confirmed to ESPN.

Key Details of the Deal

The agreement comprises an initial fee of £69m and £10m in potential add-ons. Ekitike has agreed to a six-year contract and is set to undergo a medical examination shortly.

Ekitike's Preference for Liverpool

Despite interest from other clubs like Newcastle United and Manchester United, Ekitike has shown a strong desire to join Liverpool, and the move is now imminent.

Performance and Potential

Having scored 15 goals in 33 games for Frankfurt in the Bundesliga last season, Ekitike's transfer to Liverpool comes on the back of his impressive performance on the field.

Ekitike's previous club, Paris Saint-Germain, will receive 20% (£13.8m) of his transfer fee this summer.

National Team Aspirations

Although Ekitike has not yet made his international debut for France, sources suggest that playing for Liverpool in the Premier League could boost his chances of representing France in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
