Chatapps Telegram and Signal suddenly out of the blue

Signal and Telegram are known for their security. They were the first apps to send messages encrypted. Signal was made by the American company Open Whisper Systems. Telegram was set up by the Russians Nikolaj and Pavel Doerov, who were previously rich with the social network VKontakte, the 'Russian Facebook'. The brothers turned their backs on Russia a few years ago.
