Yang's identity was protected by an anonymity order, but that was lifted by a judge on Monday. Last week, it was revealed that Yang, then known as H6, was a confidant of Andrew. The prince's office subsequently stated that 'all contact' was terminated after government concerns and that Andrew never discussed sensitive matters with the Chinese man.

British media report that the businessman spent nearly two decades in the United Kingdom, but also spent some of his time in China. Yang was informed in 2023 that he was not allowed to re-enter the country.
