Bangladesh depends war criminal on

dhaka - Bangladesh on Wednesday early in the Islamist party leader Motiur Rahman Nizami (73) hanged in the central prison of Dhaka. He was sentenced to death for war crimes during the war of independence with Pakistan in 1971.
That's justice minister Anisul Haq announced just after midnight in Bangladesh, knowing that the news could lead to furious reactions of followers of Nizami.
Nizami, a former MP and minister, was the leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami party. A special court considered him guilty of genocide, rape and organizing a massacre of prominent intellectuals. On appeal the sentence was confirmed. The police and border guards had thousands of additional troops to their feet to guard the security in major cities during the execution.
