barcelona - Barcelona's Deco reveals there is no penalty clause if the club opts not to make Marcus Rashford's loan move permanent from Manchester United, despite an option to sign him for €30 million.

Barcelona's Deco on Marcus Rashford's Future

Barcelona's sporting director Deco has clarified that the club faces no penalty if they choose not to make Marcus Rashford's loan move permanent from Manchester United next summer. The club has the option to sign Rashford for around €30 million but will not be penalized for not exercising it.

Decision Yet to Be Made

Deco stated in an interview with Mundo Deportivo that there is no penalty clause in the loan agreement if they decide not to sign Rashford permanently. He emphasized that the focus is on Rashford's current performance and adaptation to the team, with a decision on his future not being an immediate priority.

Rashford's Impressive Start at Barcelona

Despite injuries to key players like Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, Rashford has made a strong impact at Barcelona, scoring two goals and providing four assists in his first eight appearances. Deco expressed satisfaction with Rashford's performance, highlighting his talent and adaptability.

Deco praised Rashford's abilities, noting his early success at a young age, followed by stellar seasons at Manchester United. He acknowledged the challenges Rashford faced at United and expressed contentment with his contributions at Barcelona.

Next Steps for Rashford and Barcelona

As Barcelona prepares to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Rashford is expected to continue in his role on the left side of the front three. Barcelona kicked off their European campaign with a 2-1 victory against Newcastle United, with Rashford scoring both goals.

Deco reiterated that while a decision regarding Rashford's permanent signing will be made in the future, the current focus remains on upcoming matches and Rashford's continued performance.
