baghdad - The Iraqi army seems to be gearing up for the decisive battle for the city of Ramadi, which in May this year was occupied by Islamic State. The army called on everyone in Ramadi on Sunday within 72 hours to leave the city.
Iraqi military aircraft flew over the city and dropped sheets of paper with the call for the evacuation. Ramadi lies 100 kilometers west of the capital Baghdad. The city is situated in the Sunni triangle, the area of Iraq where mostly Sunnis live. IS is a Sunni terrorist group.
