Approximately 130 forest fires in northern Spain

- Approximately one hundred fires raging in the region of Asturias in northwestern Spain. The strong wind and high temperatures make it difficult to fight the fire, the newspaper El País Sunday.

According to the authorities, there are no injuries. However, several families have been evacuated in Cangas de Narcea and El Franco in the western part of Asturias. The heavy smoke from the fires made it necessary to close the motorway and the railway line between Asturias and the neighboring region of Galicia for four hours.

In the Cantabria region, west of Asturias, about thirty raging wildfires.
