US Commander Meets with SDG Leader
CENTCOM General Michael Erik Kurilla met with Mazlum Abdi, the leader of the PKK/YPG-backed SDG in northern Syria. The meeting also included CJTF-OIR Commander Major General Kevin Leahy and CSOJTF-L Commander Brigadier General Michael Brooks.
Visit to El Hol Camp
General Kurilla also visited the El Hol camp where thousands of ISIS-affiliated individuals are detained, emphasizing the importance of preventing ISIS resurgence in the region. The US considers its cooperation with SDG crucial in this effort.
