lebanon, israel, gaza - Hezbollah co-founder Fuad Shukr was killed in an Israeli airstrike, just after marrying four women in secret ceremonies. The airstrikes also targeted other Hezbollah leaders, according to reports.

Hezbollah co-founder Fuad Shukr was killed in an Israeli airstrike in July 2024, shortly after marrying four women in separate secret ceremonies approved by the group's spiritual leader Hashem Safieddine, as reported by the New York Times.

Shukr, who was held responsible for the 1983 attack in Lebanon that killed 241 US marines, died in the airstrike along with one of his new wives, several children, and two unidentified women. The man who legalized Shukr's marriages was also killed in the attack.

Not only Shukr, but also Hezbollah leader Nasrallah was under scrutiny due to Israel's advanced espionage techniques. Despite warnings to seek safer hideouts, Nasrallah refused to relocate deeper underground believing Israel wouldn't dare to target him to avoid a regional war. However, Nasrallah and other leaders were killed in precision airstrikes on their headquarters with F-15 jets.

Following the airstrikes, many of Nasrallah's associates were neutralized using exploding communication devices. The terrorist organization was decapitated within weeks, leaving Hezbollah incapacitated for at least a decade.

Israeli intelligence had been monitoring Hezbollah's movements, bunkers, and facilities for over two decades with spies planting listening devices and even trackers in the group's rockets. The revelation came after the US newspaper's investigation revealed Israel had compiled dossiers on hundreds of Hezbollah targets since 2006, expanding to tens of thousands last year.

However, the intelligence unit, Unit 8200, made grave errors by focusing more on Hezbollah than on Hamas in Gaza. This negligence allowed Hamas to carry out a deadly attack on Israeli soil in 2023, resulting in significant casualties and hostages.
