germany - A tragic incident at New Year's celebrations in Germany led to the death of 5 people and injuries to numerous others. The accidents involving fireworks in several regions across the country caused a sense of mourning and concern.

During the New Year's celebrations in Germany, a series of accidents involving fireworks resulted in the tragic loss of 5 lives and left many others wounded. Reports indicate that incidents occurred in the states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony, Brandenburg, and the city of Hamburg, with a significant number of injuries in addition to the fatalities.

Among the injured individuals, some are said to be in critical condition and are receiving medical treatment in hospitals.

Furthermore, in the capital city Berlin, where the New Year's festivities were traditionally held in front of the Brandenburg Gate, around 65,000 people gathered for the event. However, disruptions and unruly behavior erupted during the celebrations, leading to the arrest of approximately 400 individuals who were causing disturbances and attacking the police.

Additionally, a separate incident of a knife attack took place in Berlin, where two individuals were wounded by a Syrian resident of Sweden. The Berlin Police Department confirmed that the attacker was taken into custody. It was reported that the assailant indiscriminately targeted people in his vicinity. Initial findings suggest that the apprehended attacker may have mental health issues, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
