Putin starts visit to Greece

athens - Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived Friday for political talks in Athens. Putin will with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras talking about economic cooperation, energy issues, the situation in the eastern Mediterranean and Russia's relations with the EU and NATO, according to sources in government circles.
Putin will also meet with Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos. Saturday travels the Kremlin leader to the Autonomous Monastic State of the Holy Mountain Athos in northern Greece. Which is considered a stronghold of Orthodox Christianity. Putin replies that a visit to the predominantly inhabited by Russians monastery of Agios Panteleimon. At the ceremony on Mount Athos will also join the Russian Patriarch Kirill.
