The Brocken, with 1141 meters the highest mountain in the north of Germany, is known for its weather records, varying from Siberian frost to wind speeds of hurricane power. The combination created a new highlight at the highest point of the Harz.
In the Harz, Sunday's longest suspension bridge for pedestrians has been officially taken into service. The free-hanging part of the footpath 100 meters above the river Rappbode, near a dam, is 458 meters. So far, Sochi's record holder has a 439 meter overvoltage.
