Zelensky Supports Trump's Peace Efforts

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has voiced his support for U.S. President Donald Trump's initiatives to bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, stating his belief in Trump's capability to succeed. During a meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu in the capital city of Kiev, Zelensky emphasized the necessity of Ukraine's involvement in any negotiations aimed at stopping the war. Zelensky mentioned that discussions must exclusively involve Ukraine to be effective. He also expressed readiness to assist Moldova in the energy sector amidst Russia's attempts to create energy-related issues in the country. Zelensky highlighted his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Switzerland, where he offered Ukraine's infrastructure for the transfer of Azerbaijani gas to Europe. Asserting that Ukraine no longer requires Russian gas, Zelensky declared that they will no longer permit the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine. Sandu reinforced their support for Ukraine's territorial integrity, attributing Ukraine's bravery to ensuring peace in Moldova. She expressed gratitude towards the Ukrainian people for safeguarding Moldova from war. Sandu accused Russia of destabilizing Moldova by striving to install a government aligned with Moscow's interests. She expressed hope for peace in 2025, envisioning it as a prospect that will benefit not only Ukrainians but the entire region and continent.
