vienna - Female parliamentarians have been demonstratively exiled in Austria at the time of the swearing in of politician Peter Pilz (64). He was discredited last year after he had been accused of assault.

Pilz in 2013, in a drunken state, would have touched a woman. When the alleged victim came out years later with the accusation, the case was already barred. The politician also said he could not remember anything about the incident. He promised to abandon a seat in parliament, but later changed his mind.

Pilz was co-founder of Die GrĂ¼nen and later founded his own party, with which he won eight seats. Female parliamentarians reacted angrily to his return to parliament. They almost all left the room.
