bath, united kingdom - A 42-year-old woman, Sammi Mai, was injured in an unusual incident at a Waitrose supermarket when a cauliflower fell on her head while she was browsing the vegetables.

The 42-year-old Sammi Mai was stooped over looking at the vegetables in a Waitrose store when the cauliflower came down.

Mai was knocked unconscious by the impact. When she regained consciousness shortly after, the cauliflower was lying next to her. She had to be taken by ambulance to a hospital in Bath. There, a concussion was diagnosed.

She became even more upset when she was given a £25 store voucher from Waitrose as compensation. The supermarket also offered to pay for the taxi ride from the hospital to her home. According to the victim, she still suffers daily from the blow with the cauliflower, making work impossible.

Sammi Mai feels she is not being taken seriously. A few days after the incident, Waitrose had suggested she hire a lawyer. They refused to communicate directly with her.

The supermarket claims to take customer safety seriously and to do everything to prevent accidents.
