- Wolves secure defender Jackson Tchatchoua, dubbed the fastest Serie A player, bringing Premier League summer spending close to all-time high.

Wolves Secure Fastest Serie A Player, Tchatchoua

Wolves have successfully signed defender Jackson Tchatchoua, known as the fastest player in Serie A, in a deal that pushes Premier League summer spending to near-record levels.

Record-Breaking Transfer

The Midlands club finalized the acquisition of right-back Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona for approximately €12.5 million ($14.6m), contributing to the Premier League's total spending of £2.31bn ($3.12bn), just shy of the all-time high of £2.36bn set in 2023.

Tchatchoua, a 23-year-old Cameroon international, showcased remarkable speed in Serie A, averaging 34.88 kmh and reaching a top speed of 36.3 kmh. His impressive performance included 62 league appearances for Verona, scoring two goals.

Notable Signings This Summer

Wolves' addition of Tchatchoua marks their fifth signing this transfer window, following Jørgen Strand Larsen, Fer Lopez, Jhon Arias, and David Wolfe. The Premier League's major signings this season have predominantly been from Bundesliga clubs, with players like Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike moving to Liverpool, and Benjamin Sesko transferring to Manchester United from RB Leipzig.

As the transfer window progresses, clubs continue to make strategic moves to strengthen their squads and compete at the highest level.
