World November 22, 2018 12:16

bonn - The number of wolves in Germany is growing steadily. The Federal Office for Nature Conservation (BfN) saw 73 packs at the last count. That was thirteen more than the year before.

The wolves are more and more common in the federal states bordering Poland in the northeast of the country. In addition to the number of packs, there were also more pairs of wolves: 21 to 30 in the previous count. Furthermore, only three living animals were detected.

The good thriving of the wolves also has a downside. This year only seventeen animals were killed by traffic in the Land of Brandenburg. Three other animals were shot illegally. 37 roedels live in Brandenburg.
