WHO fears the spread zikavirus

geneve - The mosquito-borne zikavirus spread as possible over the entire American continent, with the exception of Canada and Chile. This fear was telling the World Health Organization (WHO) from Monday. The virus is suspected to have caused brain damage in babies in Brazil.

The WHO says that women who are planning to travel to areas where the zikavirus prevails, should consult a health professional. The virus can be transmitted through blood, but is also found in human sperm. According to the WHO, however, more evidence is needed to confirm that it can also be transmitted through sexual contact.
