' WhatsApp Facebook will roll over '

amsterdam - Facebook is the largest and most used social media network. Still, Facebook is facing increasing competition from WhatsApp. Dutch share more conscious messages, photos and videos. Personal events they share more with a smaller, specific group via WhatsApp.

Facebook is thus becoming a collection of major life events and general newsworthy or amusing links to posts, videos and photos. This is evident from market research firm Multi Scope under 7677 Dutch.Facebook is by far the most popular social media network. Around 76 percent of the Dutch have a profile on Facebook.

WhatsApp (68 percent) and LinkedIn (45 percent), followed at a respectful distance. Keeping in touch with friends, acquaintances and old friends is the main reason for the use of social media.

Photo sharing and viewing is after the main reason.

Share photos via WhatsApp is much more popular than Facebook or Instagram. The number of shared photos on WhatsApp is almost three times as high (11 photos per month). Especially 18 to 35 year olds sharing intensively photos via WhatsApp (17 photos) or via Facebook (photo 2.5). A link to a news story is still mainly shared through Facebook, namely 3.9 links per month, compared with 2.2 links via WhatsApp.
