According to Khan, the British are entitled to a 'real' referendum in which the choice can be made between the final agreement (or the absence thereof) and the remaining member of the EU.

With his call, Khan raises the pressure on Labor party leader Jeremy Corbyn. As London's mayor, Khan is one of the foremost Labor politicians and the one with the most extensive powers. Corbyn, like May, states that the outcome of the Brexit referendum must be accepted.
