Virginie Viard succeeds Lagerfeld at Chanel

- Karl Lagerfeld's right-hand man, Virginie Viard, takes over the creative leadership of the collections of the designer who died on Tuesday at Chanel. That has been announced by the French fashion house.

Viard and Lagerfeld worked intensively together for Chanel for over thirty years. Her appointment is therefore no surprise.

Virginie Viard already signed up for Lagerfeld last month, when the German first went missing from the presentation of a new collection during the Paris Fashion Week. The couturier did not feel fit enough. Viard therefore received the applause in his name.
