Veto VS against UN resolution capital Israel

new york - The United States has vetoed the United Nations Security Council (UN) against a resolution drawn up by Egypt. He stated that the status of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is not legally valid and must therefore be withdrawn.

Fourteen of the fifteen members of the Security Council voted in favor of the resolution. The American veto was already expected.

US President Trump took the decision last week that his country will now recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and that the US Embassy will be established there in due course. Trump's decision came to him with a lot of international criticism.
