The authorities came up with an adequate solution, reports The Guardian: the cotton had to be glued back to the plants.
Over five hundred villagers had to abandon their work to help farmers with that chore. A variety of means harvest was put back, from glue to tape. After the almost impossible task, the street was neatly swept.
An unforeseen factor threw a spanner in the works: Prime Sjavkat Mirzijajev chose another route.
