usa - The US is preparing to send approximately 1500 more troops to the Mexico border to prevent the entry of irregular migrants.

US to Deploy More Troops to Mexico Border

The US is set to send around 1500 additional troops to the Mexico border to prevent the entry of irregular migrants. A logistics brigade from the 18th Airborne Corps in North Carolina will be deployed to the southern border to support President Donald Trump's increased pressure on immigration.

The new units deployed to the border are expected to assist in installing wire barriers between the US and Mexico, as well as providing transportation, intelligence, and other support for border patrols.

Since Trump took office, the Pentagon has already deployed a 1600-strong military unit to the border and decided to assign around 500 marines to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to detain some of the irregular migrants apprehended. After this troop deployment, the total number of additional troops assigned to support US border security during the Trump administration will reach around 3600.
