US B-52 Bombers Deployed to Middle East

US Air Force deployed two B-52 strategic bombers over the Middle East to demonstrate its capabilities. The mission, conducted on February 17th, included live ammunition drops in several partner countries.

The B-52 bombers, capable of carrying 30 tons of munitions, were sent to support Israel and deter Iran. The presence of these aircrafts is part of the US strategy to increase military presence in the region since 2023.

Egypt allegedly denied passage through its airspace, causing the bombers to wait over southern Crete before receiving clearance after high-level talks.
