washington - The United States will cut more than $ 200 million in financial aid to the Palestinians. The money was earmarked for projects in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip, but is now being earmarked for projects elsewhere. That says an anonymous employee from the US Department of State.
President Donald Trump came to that decision after the projects were re-examined, he says. This has been done to ensure that financial assistance is in line with US interests and is of added value to American taxpayers.
Which other projects will be financed is not known. 'We will use the Congress to reallocate these resources for other policy priorities,' says another Ministry employee, who also wants to remain anonymous.
