shasta county - Two years ago, a goat named Cedar was wrongfully taken from a 9-year-old girl by American agents, resulting in a $300,000 settlement for the family in a lawsuit.

A goat named Cedar, part of a children's animal care program in California, was bought by the girl's mother after being taken by agents, leading to a legal dispute over ownership. Despite efforts, Cedar was slaughtered without answers on who did it. The family's lawyer stated that the $300,000 settlement is a step forward, although it can't bring Cedar back home. Questions remain unanswered about the case, with released texts hinting at Cedar ending up at a barbecue event.
