new orleans - A US court of appeals ruled on Wednesday that the Biden administration does not have the right to remove barbed wire fencing in Texas that was set up to prevent illegal migration from Mexico.

The court overturned a previous ruling by a federal judge, stating that the Texas criminal trespass law allowing the barbed wire could be applied to the federal government. The court also determined that Texas can keep the barbed wire in place while the legal process unfolds, as the state seeks to protect its own territory and is likely to win the case.

Texas, governed by a Republican state government, has blamed Biden for the increase in illegal migrants crossing the US-Mexico border. The administration is engaged in various legal battles with Texas and other states aiming to prevent and penalize illegal migration.
