UN Security Council endorses Barrow

new york - The UN Security Council on Thursday expressed support for the intention of West African countries to help the Gambian President Adama Thursday sworn Barrow in the saddle. The council however stressed that in the first place should be sought for a political solution.

The fifteen-member council unanimously supported a resolution calling on Senegalese ' full support '' was expressed for the West African country union ECOWAS, which wants to ensure that is respected the outcome of the Gambian presidential election.

That election was won by Barrow, but incumbent President Yahya Jammeh refuses to resign. Barrow was forced to take the oath of office by the political crisis in his country Senegal.
