Ugandan President's Son Threatens to Castrate Opposition Leader's Bodyguard

Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of President Yoweri Museveni, revealed in a series of messages on social media that he is holding the bodyguard of opposition leader Bobi Wine in his basement.

Threats and Intimidation

Kainerugaba shared a photo of the shaved and shirtless staff member, hinting at torture and threatening to castrate him. This follows a raid on Wine's party headquarters after his call for a protest against the regime.

Known for controversial social media posts, Kainerugaba previously expressed intentions to behead Wine and invade Kenya, later passing them off as jokes.

Political Tensions and Elections

Opposition leader Bobi Wine, a prominent critic of Museveni's regime, faces ongoing harassment. With presidential elections scheduled next year, the situation remains tense, with Wine alleging electoral fraud and state repression.

President Museveni, in power since 1986, faces uncertainty over his candidacy for another term as he turns 81 this year.
