amsterdam - Taxi app Uber and Amsterdam Cares together to offer programming classes to children. Both parties want children so at a young age in contact with coding. Amsterdam children from deprived backgrounds are the target audience for the project.

Uber-programmers and other employees of the company next year to work on a yet to be determined elementary school in Amsterdam Southeast. They go there children of the groups 5 to 8 teaching.

Besides programming classes Uber will also focus on the elderly, the homeless and migrants, for example through a project for sharing meals with lonely elderly in Amsterdam. These projects run the company in collaboration with Amsterdam Cares. That organization is trying to increase the social responsibility of companies in and around Amsterdam.
