barcelona - For the early election of a regional parliament in Catalonia, 34.5 percent of the voters came up on Thursday morning. That is slightly less than the more than 35 percent in the previous regional elections in 2015, according to the published attendance figures.
Spanish media and opinion pollers expect a very large turnout of about 80 percent. They point out that the regional elections were two years ago on a Sunday and today is a working day. It is assumed that many voters vote after work. The polling stations do not close until 21.00 hours.
