Turkish Police Officer's Heroic Act in New Jersey

In Ridgefield, New Jersey, Turkish police officer Fatih Karabıyık saved a person's life by providing timely first aid at a car accident scene. Last Wednesday, two vehicles collided on Grand Avenue resulting in one driver being critically injured. Upon arrival at the scene, Karabıyık noticed the injured individual was not breathing and had no pulse. He quickly administered CPR, sustaining the first aid until the ambulance arrived, ultimately saving the individual's life.

Praise and Recognition

Ridgefield Fire Department Deputy Chief Scott Russo commended Karabıyık for his courage and selflessness, stating that his timely intervention was exemplary. The local authorities and community have lauded Karabıyık's heroic actions. He is expected to receive a special award for his success.

Advocating for Recognition

In response to the lack of recognition for foreign-born police officers, Karabıyık expressed hope that Turkish-American community leaders and officials in the U.S. acknowledge and support their contributions.

Second Turkish Police Chief in the U.S.

Meanwhile, Yakup Zoklu, serving in the New York Police Department, recently became the second Turkish police chief in U.S. history, being promoted to the position of Cliffside Park Police Chief. Zoklu's promotion is considered a significant milestone for the Turkish-American community and a source of motivation for other Turkish officers.
